The frustration for a sad meal is beyond belief for this experience. We have been to Miko multiple times and go out of our way past other poke places. Sadly tonight's experience will make me consider my next time poke experience.
The staff is always so nice and helpful, which is why I have to give 4 stars.
When I rate the food to a 1 Star, it's due to the team that simple cannot follow or read the instructions for how to make the poke bowl. I have allergies for starters, so when I order I'm ordering what I can eat and alterations are not acceptable.
We were watching them make the bowl, they initially made the wrong size, I asked and they started over. My thought was did this create the problem, yet still the same slip for what goes in right?!
My bowl was supposed to be mixed greens and rice then built with with again ingredients I can eat. I don't do spices and have allergies. I got all rice, dried onions instead of garlic, and something spice on top.
Nothing worse then spending this much on something that cannot be eaten!
The food is good and they started out amazing. However, the more I go the less care they put into the food. This is a regular bowl and I’ve gotten one of these before. They charge $12 for the bowl itself and it comes out looking like someone ate half of it. Not only that, but the are becoming EXTREMELY stingy about the quantity. It was never like this. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here as often. Disappointing.
My girlfriend and I have gotten Poke quite a few times from here now. In the past, the food has been great. Usually I get a large and she gets a regular or small. During our last three recent visits, however, the large size bowl has been significantly underfilled. The overall amount of food in the large size has been less than the regular size bowl.
The second time it happened, we were dining in. I talked with a staff member and they explained they had run out of rice and that's why it was underfilled. I understand that products run out and sometimes there are shortages, but knowingly under serving and still charging full cost in not ethical.
Today, we ordered out. Upon opening our order at home, once again, the large size was significantly underfilled. I've attached a photo of the regular and large sized bowls. The regular is filled well to the brim while the large isn't even close.
I have ordered delivery a couple times from Miko Poke and it’s been delicious every time. I got a make your own salmon bowl. Delicious! Highly recommend. The spicy aioli, creamy wasabi, and unagi sauce is delicious.
I absolutely love how fresh Miko Poke is! We go here for lunch at least once a week for a quick and healthy option. My only gripe is the amount of protein we’ve been getting lately. I even order double salmon sometimes to get more. I feel like the bowl has a lot of rice and not a lot of protein sometimes. Would like to see more protein in these bowls consistently!
